Two members of LOVE 4 Tennis had a great week. Uladzimir Ignatik (26) have made the final at ADVANTAGE CARS PRAGUE OPEN 2016 by ZENOVA Challenger in Prague, whilst Illya Marchenko (28) achieved the same result at Open Castilla y Leon Villa de El Espinar Challenger in Segovia, Spain.
Uladzimir Ignatik, coached by Jan Stancik, has played fantastic final in rainy Prague together with his South American opponent Santiago Giraldo. Columbian won the match only after having the edge in the third set tie break, winning the whole match 6-4, 3-6, 7-6.
Ignatik was leading 3-0, had a good start into the match, but then Giraldo found his way to deal with the difficult conditions, found his rhytm and won the first set 6-4. Ignatik had a very similar start into the second set, which he won 6-3. Giraldo was leading 5-2 in the final set, but he could not hold on to his lead. Ignatik fought his way back into the match. Tie break had to decide the winner. Number six seed Santiago Giraldo did not allow any slip ups in the decisive game of the match.
Ignatik did not add his fourth challenger title. “Giraldo has played better today. I would like to keep on playing like this, it was a very positive week,” said Ignatik. He will move up the ranking by 46 places, to appear on 246th place in the ATP World Ranking, as from Monday.

Career best Ranking for Marchenko

Twenty eight yeard old Marchenko has continued playing in great form after moving from Italian Recanati to Spain. Last week he won the title in Italy, this week he made the final in Spain. He has to wait to lift up sixth challenger trophy. He reached his career highest ATP ranking (No. 64). He moved up by three places. His next schedule includes Olympic Games in Rio, playing for Ukraine in both singles and doubles.

LOVE 4 Tennis Academy member Uladzimir Ignatik, coached by Jan Stancik, has made another successful result this year, winning the ITF tournament in Usti nad Orlici in Czech Republic, dropping only a set.

Belarussian tennis player has won his 14th singles ITF title, second this year. He receives 18 points into the ATP ranking. “Number two seed Belarussian Ignatik takes the title from the ITF tournament in Usti Nad Orlici in Czech Republic. Together with prize money of 1440 USD, he wins crystal glasses and some additional prizes. He beat Polish Opponent Pawel Cias easily in the final in two sets 6-1, 6-4. Cias improved in the beginning of the second set, was break up, but Ignatik kept concentrated to finish the game off,” wrote the tournament website www.rieteropen.cz.

The fitness camp in High Tatras was good for Uladzimir Ignatik who feels better on the court now. The member of the LOVE 4 TENNIS Academy had been training in Slovak hills for ten days under the supervision of Juraj Dulik. And Ignatik admits that it was tough. He also had his first training after his return from Tatras with Jiri Vesely, No. 66 in the ATP rankings.
It’s tough to get used to this kind of fitness work for Ignatik but he feels it was necessary. “I used to go to camps in May or October, not in December. It was cold there, a lot of snow. We worked hard, we walked 10 kilometres each day and after that we worked out a bit in fitness gym. I’ve survived and I’m prepared now,” says Ignatik for love4tennis.sk website. He feels improvement. “I move better, I fell better. There was a higher altitude and ten days of fitness preparation has improved my tennis skills, too. I was feeling good at my first training, I have hunger for tennis, again,” continues Ignatik.
After arrival, he had interesting sparring partner in the LOVE 4 TENNIS club. No. 66  in the ATP rankings: it‘s Jiri Vesely from Czech republic who is coached by two Slovaks: Ladislav Simon & Jozef Ivanko. “Jiri and me, we are friends. I played against him at the two tournaments. I know him very well,” says Ignatik.
Is he going to Australia?
Ignatik is going to play Czech tennis extraleague for Pardubice and he is staying in Bratislava during the Christmas season. “My parents are coming to Slovakia, too. I will be with my family,” he reveals. It is almost certain that the No. 219 in the ATP rankings won’t go to Australia. “I’m 90 percent convinced that we canceled it because after the 2014 season, we want to do things which he had never done before. There are a tactical and technical issues that cannot be solved during the tournament. We’re going to cooperate with the fitness coach Juraj Dulik because Uladzimir hasn’t had a time for work in agility and flexibility. This will be the key content. We want to make up for the lost time, because for the last three years, it has been the same routine. He was going to the tournaments one after another instead of training and preparation for Grand slams,“ explains Erik Csarnakovics, the head coach of the LOVE 4 TENNIS Academy.

The Belarusian tennis player Uladzimir Ignatik (24), who has lived in Bratislava for two years, has become the member of LOVE 4 TENNIS Academy. He is interested in stabilizing the game in order to improve his existing career maximum – 137th place in the ATP rankings. Next year, he is going to work with our coaches Jan Stancik and Erik Csarnakovics.
“I’m happy that I can practice here. I have started to train in L4T one month ago. I want to improve my game and I think that Erik and Jan are good coaches. They can help me with things that I don’t do right. I hope it’s going to be better,” reveals No. 199 in the ATP rankings who knows the club at Turbinova street for some time. “I used to go for massages here. I saw that they have the Academy. I chatted with the guys so I learnt about LOVE 4 TENNIS,” he says.
The best Belarusian player now likes hard courts more than any other surface. “But for me, there is no problem to give up the clay and adapt to hard court. Hard courts are my favourites, they suit better to my game,” believes Ignatik.
And what about the goals of Uladzimir for the rest of the year 2014?  “At the beginning of the season I wanted to be in Top 300. Now I’m No. 199 in the ATP rankings. If it goes like this, it will be great. I definitely want to improve and the goal is to be No. 150 at the end of the year,” he adds.
Jan Stancik: “He has a lot of potential.”
Ignatik approached and asked for cooperation of our coach Jan Stancik. “I knew that he was practicing in Bratislava in other club and I knew that he was a good player. He told me that he was 24 years old, time was passing and he didn’t have the kind of professional care that he needed. He wanted to be higher in the ATP rankings, he wanted to be in the Top hundred. We have welcomed it, it’s a challenge also for us,” explains Stancik who estimates Ignatik’s potential. “He is not losing with the players around No. 100 smoothly, that’s for sure. He could even stabilize his position around No. 50 in the ATP rankings. He has a lot of potential and he understands the game of tennis,” estimates Stancik.
Csarnakovics: “He is unpredictable.”
Ignatik is physically disposed and he knows how to play forehand, backhand and volleys. He has a special game, he likes to play risky shots, but he is also creative and aggressive. “Maybe he is too creative sometimes. He needs to stabilize the game to beat even the players from the top 100. But we don’t want to lose his unpredictability. He needs to work on the second serve,” says Csarnakovics.
The term of agreement with Ignatik lasts for one year. “We’ll see if we can help him. Now he has a good time ahead of him, he needs to defend 40 points only on the tournaments. We’re going to communicate all three together like we did when we were working with Slovak player Norbert Gombos,” concludes the head coach of the LOVE 4 TENNIS Academy.
Ignatik has been living in Bratislava for two years. He is in rented accommodation and he likes the city. “Bratislava is a nice city. Good for tennis, for sport. It is a good location, tournaments are accessible by car. I really like it,” says Uladzimir Ignatik.
