Cibulkova starts her Tennis Academy to help young tennis players

Cibulkova: ,, My parents had to sacrifice a lot for my career. It is not necessary anymore. “

She used to be told that she would never become a tennis player. Now, she wants to show the youngsters that it’s possible. And she starts looking for her followers.

Today, no. 4 in WTA ranking (March 2017) is a star and achieved almost everything in the world of tennis – having played in the Australian Open Finals (2014) and holding eight WTA titles. In 2016, she became the world champion in Singapore.

She wanted just to play tennis, made it to the very TOP

But she might not have become a successful tennis player. If there wasn ‘t a heavy help from her parents. They supported Dominika since being a small kid. Dominika was so mad keen on tennis that she was able to spend hours on courts. Her father Milan even quit his job at that time, just to be able to drive his daughter to practices and help her. „I didn’t get any official support, therefore I was fully dependent on my parents. My father left his job to be able to help me start my career. He was doing everything for me – spending all his time with me, “ recalls Cibulkova the times when she was a small kid, starting her career.

When she was younger, she dedicated herself to tennis completely. We have always emphasized to her: When you do something, do it to the maximum. This is the secret of her success in tennis, “ says Dominika’s father Milan.

Obstacles and negative attitudes had to be to overcome

The young tennis player had to overcome many obstacles at the beginning. She was confronted with negative attitudes, doubts point out her lack of height. She was told that she would never become a pro tennis player. „They used to tell me that with my height I would never become a professional player. I kept saying I just want to play tennis. I spent long hours playing, “ says the 29-year-old Dominika. Thanks to the support of her loved ones, she managed to make her dream come true. She had become one of the best tennis players of the last decade.

As a young girl, Dominika focused on reaching the TOP 200 in WTA ranking. She could hardly imagine to go further up.

Time to pay back

Now, Dominika would like to help the aspiring tennis players in their fight with the same obstacles that she had to face, herself. In Cibulkova Academy, she wants not only to pass on her experience. She also wants to create such a spot, where the players will find understanding and help from the best ones.

All for tennis development. In one spot

Parents risk so much even nowadays in their effort to give their children everything. But these days, it’s not necessary to sacrifice so much, as it was in my career. This is our academy’s major benefit. There are high-quality, internationally experienced coaches in the Academy. Children and their parents will find here whatever is needed for tennis. Everything in one place – trainings, fitness center, fitness coaches, physio therapy, psychologist. Parents will no need to drive their kids all around for different exercise, “ explains Dominika and adds: „just that kids need to fully focus on tennis.“

A good alternative to major tennis academies in Spain, France

In Cibulkova Academy, talented youngsters prepare for future professional tennis career. It is a cost efficient option in comparison with major, big academies in France, Spain, or U.S.

Young players get all the service necessary – on court (high level coaches, equipment – rackets, balls, clothing) and also off court (fitness coaches, physio therapist, psychologist, nutrition, accommodation, travel arrangements). Clay and hard courts are available for training. Groups of players with coaches travel together to tournaments to reach team spirit and also to be cost efficient at the same time. Academy runs an Annual Program.

In Academy, young players find a family atmosphere. They meet players from ATP and WTA/ITF rankings, as well as Dominika Cibulkova herself – she prepares in Academy for tournaments and she also personally takes part on camps and youngster’s trainings.

Preparing in Cibulkova Academy can also secure a great education. Young players have a chance to get a scholarship in one of prestigious universities in United States.

Tennis camps with Cibulkova as a refresh

Cibulkova Academy regularly organizes tennis camps for players, who want to experience the practice of real professionals. Cibulkova will also personally participate in these camps. „Having gone through this development myself, I understand the young players, I know what’s going on in their mind, for example after a match lost. I understand what makes them worried when they are 14, 15, 16 years old. I’d like to pass on my experience to them, “ says Dominika.

And to all those with Love 4 Tennis DCA, she sends a message: „Follow your dreams, just as I did it. The crucial thing is to get support. I had my parents. I would not have made it without them.“
