Karin Morgosova from L4T Academy: I appreciate my successes, but I have to build more muscle

A member of L4T Academy Karin Morgosova (22) is having the best time of her tennis career. A couple of weeks ago, she was in the top 400 of the WTA rankings for the first time. In the August interview for the website love4tennis.sk, she has revealed the main reasons of her recent successes.
You were in the semi-finals of the ITF tournament in Stuttgart-Vaihingen and you have received 25 WTA ranking points. Is that a good motivation to work hard in the future?
I appreciate my success, as I have played so many matches in a short time and I was without rest for 15 days. And I was very satisfied, after the tournament in Germany I was in the top 400 of the WTA rankings for the first time in my career. The problem was that I hurt myself and I was resting for a month then. I am going to play the next ITF tournament in Montenegro in September.
Could you explain what kind of injury it was?
I had pain in my left knee. I didn’t want to strain my knee, because in that case I would not play much longer.
Was it possible to play tennis or you just did fitness training?
Yes, I was doing fitness training constantly. I have reinforced my left leg, because I needed to solidify the muscle above my knee. The worst pain is gone for now. I was cycling, but tennis was out of the question. I am beginning with tennis training three times a week, but I can only play from the one spot, without moving.
Who is your coach in LOVE 4 TENNIS now?
I cooperate with Jan Stancik, but of course there is also cooperation with head coach of L4T Erik Csarnakovics. I am doing the fitness training with my fitness coach Pavel Smela. I need an individual approach in order to build more muscle. Fitness workouts are really intense. I practice them two times a day.
What do you think, why do you have such a successful period of your career?
I think that the fitness training I had during last winter is paying off. I didn’t do so many mistakes during the matches and I trusted myself. That was very important. I have to be stronger and fitter for the next tournaments.
