Rybarikova trained with Havaj in LOVE 4 TENNIS

Current Slovakian number one, Magdalena Rybarikova had sparring with Filip Havaj in LOVE 4 TENNIS. In Piestany born Rybarikova, managed to get through to the third round in Wimbledon, as the only Slovakian to reach this stage of main draw.

“About the courts, Filip gave me the tip to come here. It is great, he recommended me here, I can come at any time, when it suits me most. I have it closer to my home and I would like to thank head coach Erik Csarnakovics, that he allowed me to practise here,” said Rybarikova, who praises courts here.  “Surface used to be faster, but now is absolutely perfect. It is comparable to most of the tournaments. Problem remains windy weather, but tennis club can do nothing about it. However I do not feel comfortable practising in windy weather, ” continued Rybarikova with smile on her face. And what is the main aspect of her game she works on these days? “We agreed with Filip for this week, Filip Havaj plays great tennis. From Monday we worked on our strokes from the back, we tried some strokes in move and some service of course. When the tournaments will approach, we will concentrate more on playing for points and hitting winners.”

Leaves for Istanbul and then America
Rybarikova returned back to training after ten days of rest, starting preparations on hard courts. In upcoming weeks she will defend last year’s final in New Heaven and even though she has to fight her Achilles injury, she stays optimistic. “Starting this week, I began training, next week I am playing in Istanbul. I feel good, although I feel pain in my Achilles, but I think this will remain a small issue until end of my career. I am able to fight it. On my right feel, I have protrusion, which needs surgery, however I would like to avoid it for now. Until now, it is alright, I had physio with me for whole duration of my stay in London,  described her injury woes Rybarikova. “I did consult my problem with Dr. Pavol Kolar from Prague, who did not recommend surgery. It is reversible process. He recommended medicaments and some exercises. It is not painless, but not as much as it used to be.”
Favourite part of the season comes for Rybarikova, when she usually achieves good results. Last year on American courts, she reached the final in New Heaven and in 2012 and 2013 she won in Washington. “It is my favourite tournament (Washington) of the season. I have very positive 10-1 record there. I love the city and the hotel. I feel great there,” concluded Rybarikova.
